Vaastu Interior for Home

VAASTU GUIDELINES FOR INTERIORS OF A HOUSE

Here the guidelines for the interiors of the house are explained as per vaastu. Since, the guidelines explained here will enable us to be ready for the time-consuming task of construction of a House. As Vaastu is a science, there is logic and reasoning behind every guideline. As a Vaastu Expert, I have attempted to explain these guidelines rationally and scientifically, so that you can decide what you want to follow and what you don’t.

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR INTERIORS
As per vaastu, there should be an even number of columns (if any) and similarly even number of beams in the house.

As per vaastu avoid clutter in the house. It prohibits or restricts the flow of positive energy in the house. The clutter becomes the reason for increases or accumulation of negative energy, which causes sorrows to enter you life.

All the furniture should be placed in the South-West, South-East, South, or West sides of a room. It is best that the North-East, North and East corner of each room in the house be left empty.
Medicines should be kept in the North-East area of the house.

As per vaastu one should avoid sleeping with their head in the North direction.

While entertaining the guest the head of the family should sit facing North or East, and his guests should sit facing West or South.

As all occasions every family member should avoid sitting with face towards South.

If there are exposed beams, avoid sitting under them.

Avoid furniture with sharp edges. Avoid sharp corners in the building.

Furniture should be arranged such that there is sufficient space behind the furniture for the air to move freely.

Do not use the space under the furniture’s as storing space.

Place all electronic or electrical items in East of South-East.  Air conditioners should be placed on West walls.

Big wall clocks should be placed on the West wall and smaller ones on the North, or East walls.

As per vaastu the mirrors can be placed on the North, North-East or East walls. Mirrors on other walls should be avoided. Do not keep broken mirrors in the house.

Wall paintings can be used to create an active ambience in the house. However in selecting paintings, avoid pictures such as nudes, fighting animals, hunting/violent/death scenes, barren trees, snakes, owls, bats, vultures and pigeons. The Reason- Negative images can remain in our sub-conscious mind causing some tension in us.

Doors should generally be made from a single piece of wood and should open clockwise.

In Dining/Bathroom/Kitchen the wash basin should be in the North or East.
