What is Vastu Shastra?

 

“Vastu” purports “Architecture” and ‘’shastra” stands for “Science”. It elaborates the effect of science of consciousness mingled with the tenets of nature. Revere Mamuni Mayan in the south India and Vishvakarman in the north of India revived the concept of dwelling abode of human being. The total regeneration and restoration of this fundamental architectural science was done by V. Ganapati Sthapati in present portfolio.

Panch mahabhoota:
The invisible yet constantly existing force of the following basic natural components altogether amalgamated to create the essence of survival on this magnificent benevolent earth. They are as follows: 

• Earth(bhoomi)
• Water(Jala)
• Air(Vayu)
• Fire(Aag)
• Ether(Akash)
 
“Vastu-Shastra” utilizes the incredible power of these ‘Panch mahabhoota’ and prepares the spontaneous possibilities necessary for paving health, wealth, bliss and prosperity at the abiding terrain of human being. 
 
The criterion of constructing a home is inspired from the funda of addressing a house as a “Shrine”. The human abode needs to be equipped with the “Vastu -norms” consequently; no calamity would be able to shatter the elated dream of building a congenial house.
 
Vastu guidelines for allocating rooms in an abode: 
• North (Kubera, the deity of wealth )
• South (Yama, the lord of death)
• East (Indra, the place of solar deity)
• West (Varuna, the lord of water)
• Northeast (Eshanya, the lord Shiva)
• Southeast (Agni, the fire deity)
• Northwest (Vayu, the lord of wind)

The Vastu architecture: 
‘Manushyalaya’ has its own lurid drafting of accommodation as per “Vastu-doctrine”. The Central realm is nomenclatured as “Brahmasthan”, the circumference of nuclear energy field. It must be left unconstructed while building a house for arranging religious rituals, waltz and singing on any special occasion. The Mandala:
The Mandala enunciates divisions that would have to be done for dividing a particular site using the procedure of ‘padavinyasa’ that is ascribed from the mythology of ‘Hinduism’ and ‘Buddhism’. This division is done to assign a site its distinctive ‘pada’ or cubical division in accordance to the presiding god in all specified directions as recorded in “Vastu”. They are as follows:
